Do you sell direct?
We sell our products through reputable retail stores throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and Turkey. We think that furniture is best experienced in three dimensions rather than two. It just seems more practical to "go check it out" at the store if you can. It is really nice to be able to "test drive" the furniture.
Where can I see all of your products?
None of our retailers carry our entire line of products. We work with each of our retail accounts to individually develop an assortment for them and they in turn, work with us to translate that look onto our furniture in their stores for you, the consumer. So, don't be discouraged if you can't find our entire line in any one place.
Do you sell to furniture discounters in North Carolina?
We do not, furniture is a difficult purchase and many things could go wrong. We want to sell to retailers who can provide our customers with prompt and professional service, before and after the sale. We do have a Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams Factory Outlet in Hickory, NC that handles all of our discontinued products, nearly perfect furniture and some returns.
What types of fabrics do you carry?
We have 100% cotton velvets, denims, washed cotton prints, mohairs, leather, tapestries, chenilles, linens, matelasses and many apparel-inspired fabrics.
Can you send me some swatches of your fabrics?
The best way to handle this is to select your fabric and ask your retailer to order the fabric swatch for you. We would be happy to mail it out to you from the order taken by the retailer. This way, the retailer can provide all the appropriate numbers and monitor your order. We think you will get better service this way.
Do you do COM or custom pieces?
We do offer a COM option through our retail accounts that are capable of special ordering. However, we do NOT do any type of custom work. None of our frames or slipcovers are modifiable.
Do you have eight-way hand tied springs?
After much research, we have chosen to use steel serpentine springs. These are performance-proven arched springs. They provide incredible comfort and durability.
Can you give me a price on...?
The only pricing we give out is a suggested retail. Clearly the best way to obtain true pricing is to work directly with your retailer. After you have selected the fabric for your specific silhouette, then you can get a more accurate price. Our pricing for slipcovered items is a combination of the base price with slipcover price. The price range that we quote includes all grades of fabrics and or leathers. This gives you a broad spectrum of the many fabrics that we have. Our fabrics are graded 1 through 18. Our leathers are graded A through F.

How to put on a slipcover?
Gently pull relaxed fitting slipcover down over the top of the piece, carefully working it from top to bottom; front to back. It might be necessary to tuck here and there to achieve the look you want. Place the seat cushion on the back edge (notice the front edge is rounded). Now start to put the cushion cover on the front with the zipper toward the back. Fold loose back pillows or throw pillows in half before stuffing into pillow covers, and then work corners of pillows into corners of pillow covers. There's a certain relaxed feel and look to your slipcover. Most large creases and wrinkles will fall out in a few days.
Do you make sleep sofas?
Many Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams sofas, loveseats, and chairs are available as sleep sofas. Best of all, sitting on any Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams sleep sofa is a dream come true. Sleep on our sofa bed and you won't feel that bar across your back. There's extra padding in our mattress just for your head. And when you get up, you won't find any cold, protruding mechanism by your leg! Say good-bye to lumpy, hard-to-sit-on sleep sofas...forever. Sleeper mechanisms are tubular steel construction with a woven deck attached by helical springs and supported by cross wires. The sidebars do not come above the mattress, which eases maneuverability on and off the bed. Rocker chair mechanisms are made with heavy gauge steel and legs double riveted for long life. High density molded caps protect your floors. We use a premium 5 1/2" innerspring mattress. It is completely covered with a quilted damask padding that is hypoallergenic. Sleep tight.
Care Instructions.
FABRIC
1. Brush or vacuum chairs regularly (at least once a month).
2. Protect from direct sunlight, as this will cause fabric to fade unevenly.
3. Dab spills immediately with cloth dampened with distilled water. If you choose to use mild solvent or upholstery shampoo on a tough stain, test first in an inconspicuous area.
4. For thorough cleaning, we recommend a professional in-home upholstery cleaning service. This insures the best look and greatest longevity.
SLIPCOVERS
1. For slipcovers in both pre-washed and dry-cleanable fabrics, we recommend a professional in-home upholstery cleaning service to clean slipcovers while still on bases. This insures the best look and greatest longevity.
2. If your slipcovers are pre-washed, and you prefer to wash them, use a triple-load commercial washer, cold water, and mild detergent. Dry in a triple-load commercial dryer on Air Dry or low heat until slightly damp. Put back on bases to finish drying.
3. Do not line dry because fabric may stretch. Do not store slipcovers away slightly damp.
4. Wash all chair slipcovers at once (just as you'd dry clean both pieces of a suit at once). As with clothing, some fading should be expected; separate laundering may cause color variation.
5. For thorough cleaning, we recommend a professional in-home upholstery cleaning service. This insures the best look and greatest longevity.
LEATHER
1. Leather is easily maintained without polishes, "preservers," or leather soaps. (Never use soap-not even saddle soap.)
2. For routine maintenance, simply dust or vacuum to keep furniture looking good.
3. Dab spills immediately with soft cloth dampened in distilled water (not tap water).
4. If a stain goes unnoticed and penetrates leather, use lukewarm distilled water and soft cloth to massage stain and surrounding area.
5. Most surface scratches will fade over time if you rub them with your fingertips. The warmth of your hand releases natural oils that help marks disappear.
6. For routine maintenance of nubuck and suede, brush gently with a soft suede brush. Our suedes have a protective topcoat. Spills initially bead up. Blot immediately with absorbent cloth dampened in distilled water, from outer edge of stain toward center to prevent cleaning rings. Once dry, brush surface gently.
7. Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams leathers are registered with LeatherMaster, a company that provides information on the best products/methods for cleaning/caring for specific leathers, based on type, topcoat content, etc. You can reach them at 1-800-300-2359 or at www.stainsafe.com.
